A bright turquoise tunic dress with a shirt collar and buttons all the way down the front, in size M–L. Gold circles with rays run down both sides of the button band, each with a blue eye in the middle, and there is one on each sleeve too. Handmade in India by Nomad Sari from light cotton with a crinkled finish, its surface is made up of small, intended crinkles. It is 81 cm long, 54 cm wide laid flat and weighs 116 g.
A short dress or a long shirt
On the model in the photo it reaches mid-thigh and is worn on its own at the beach as a short dress. If that feels too short for you, wear it over slim trousers, such as a pair of Nomad Sari trousers, and it becomes a long shirt. Unbuttoned, it also makes a light cover over your swimsuit.
Ruffled skirt, flared sleeves
Below the waist seam the skirt is gathered, with an extra ruffle running round the hem. The three-quarter sleeves widen towards the end and finish in a ruffle as well. Buttons run from the collar right down to the hem, so it is easy to put on and take off. This is the M–L, the size to pick if you usually wear an M or L.
An eye from the Greek islands
Around the eastern Mediterranean many people wear an eye with a blue centre on their jewellery, and many homes have one hanging up. It is said to protect against the evil eye. Here gold rays surround each eye, and the fabric is paler and washed-looking along the seams and edges. Being handmade, the eyes may sit slightly differently from one piece to the next. You receive one tunic dress, and the sunglasses, basket and jewellery in the photo are not included.
