A bright turquoise tunic dress with a crinkled finish, in size L–XL. It is 85 cm long and 57 cm wide laid flat, which makes it 4 cm longer and 3 cm wider than the M–L. With a shirt collar and buttons all the way down, it has gold rayed eyes lined up on both sides of the button band and one on each sleeve. Nomad Sari makes it by hand in India from light cotton, and it weighs 118 g.
Who is the L–XL for?
Made for L and XL, it also suits anyone who likes tops to sit loosely. From the waist seam the skirt is gathered and finished with a ruffle, so there is room at the hips too. If you are between sizes and comfort matters more, this is also the one. With the extra 4 cm of length it looks good as a long tunic over cropped or slim trousers.
A hand block print
A printing block is used to apply the eye pattern. Dipped in dye, the block is pressed onto the cloth by hand, one print after another, so the circles are not all exactly alike. Look closely at the photo and you will see that some rays are thinner or thicker than others. Block printing is an old craft in India, and many summer clothes are still made this way.
Around town, unbuttoned too
When you need a light layer in town, wear it open over a white vest top like a jacket, or buttoned up as a summer dress. The three-quarter sleeves widen towards the ends and finish in a ruffle. Along the seams and edges the fabric is paler, with a washed look. White, natural and gold accessories go well with the turquoise. You receive one tunic dress, without accessories.
