A dusky blue tunic dress with a crinkled finish, in size L–XL, with a shirt collar and buttons from top to bottom. It is 85 cm long and 57 cm wide laid flat, 4 cm longer and 3 cm wider than the M–L. Gold rayed eyes with blue centres run along the button band and appear on both sleeves. Nomad Sari makes it by hand in India from light cotton, and it weighs 118 g.

A roomier, longer version

For an L or XL, this is the size to go for. The skirt is gathered below the waist seam and finished with a ruffle, so it does not cling. If you are between sizes, this one is also the better choice for a relaxed fit. At 85 cm it is long enough to wear as a short dress, and over slim trousers it makes a good long tunic.

Open, instead of a cardigan

Unbuttoned, it works as a thin jacket over a white or blue vest top, even on a cooler summer evening. If a cardigan feels too warm for you, this is much lighter. Buttoned up, it closes from the collar right down to the hem. The three-quarter sleeves widen towards the ends and finish in a ruffle. White linen trousers and brown sandals suit the dusky blue.

Creases hardly show on the crinkled fabric, even if it gets squashed in your suitcase, and it adds very little to the weight of your luggage.
