The pattern and the symbol
These trousers are hand-painted in India with turquoise and gold goldfish that swim across the fabric. The goldfish is one of the oldest symbols of luck, abundance and good fortune in East Asian tradition, and the design here gives the trousers a cheerful, summery character. Each pair is painted by hand, so small variations between pieces are part of the look.
Fit and feel
The trousers follow the relaxed Nomad Sari cut — loose, flowing and easy to wear in warm weather. The L/XL size is designed for a comfortable fit rather than a closely fitted silhouette, leaving room for movement at the hip and the knee. The turquoise background gives the trousers a fresh, breezy summer feel that pairs naturally with white, cream and natural-toned tops.
Material and origin
The trousers are sewn in India from viscose, a fibre that drapes softly and stays cool against the skin. Viscose is well suited to summer trousers because it feels light, breathable and comfortable in higher temperatures. The garment weighs around 200 g, easy to pack for a holiday or a city weekend.
Care
Hand-wash in cool water with a mild detergent, or use a gentle cycle in a laundry bag if your machine has the option. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade to protect the hand-painted colours. Iron on a low setting on the reverse side if needed, taking extra care over the painted areas.
