Nomad Sari Travel Blessing Scarf – Prayer Flags, 170 × 50 cm

Grey-blue and mustard striped Nomad Sari scarf, 170 × 50 cm, in muted colours. Handmade in Nepal.

A Nomad Sari scarf in muted, natural colours, 170 × 50 cm, made from a light, striped fabric. One half is a pale grey-blue, the other striped in mustard and ochre. A black printed lotus flower and compass with the NS monogram decorate it, and the ends are fringed. According to the brand, it is handmade in Nepal.

Wishes on the wind

On Himalayan passes and around Nepal's monasteries, strings of colourful prayer flags are hung up. In Nepal you also see them strung across rooftops and suspension bridges. People say the wind carries the prayers and good wishes printed on them onwards. The wish that goes with the Prayer Flags scarf is the same, that the wind carries your wishes with it.

Prayer flags usually follow one another in five colours, blue, white, red, green and yellow. The grey-blue and mustard halves of the scarf echo two of them in softer shades.

Around the shoulders when saying goodbye

According to Nomad Sari, in Nepal a scarf like this is placed around the shoulders of someone setting off on a journey. You can give it in the same way to someone leaving on a long trip or moving abroad. It is light and takes up hardly any room in a suitcase.

Take it on a long flight or coach journey too, as a shawl for when the air conditioning feels cool.

Mustard and grey-blue

The two soft colours go well with beige, brown and grey coats without being loud. Knotted loosely, both halves show, and worn as a shawl you can choose which side faces out. The mustard half has the colour of autumn leaves, so it looks especially good from October on.
