The two halves of this light, striped 170 × 50 cm Nomad Sari scarf are different colours. One half is orange with thin yellow and red stripes, the other turquoise and green. It is decorated with black printed symbols, a lotus flower and a compass bearing the NS monogram, along with a looped knot. The ends are finished with colourful fringes, and according to the brand it is handmade in Nepal.
For new beginnings and spiritual journeys
Nomad Sari calls this series its Travel Blessing Scarves. According to the brand, in Nepal a scarf like this is placed around the shoulders of someone setting off on a journey as they say goodbye. The wish that goes with Pilgrim's Dawn is for new beginnings and spiritual journeys.
For the Camino or a quiet retreat
A friend setting off on the Camino or Mary's Way would welcome it, as would someone spending a quiet weekend in a monastery or starting a new job. In Central Europe, Mary's Way runs from Mariazell to Csíksomlyó, crossing Hungary for several hundred kilometres.
It is useful on the way too. Use it to cover your shoulders when entering a church, or drape it over the back of your neck against strong sun on a long walk. Worn as a shawl, let both ends hang evenly at the front.
Orange and turquoise
Orange and turquoise bring each other out and look good against a grey or black coat. The fringes are made of threads in several colours. Light as it is, the scarf folds small enough for the outer pocket of a rucksack. On a chilly early start, wrap it around your neck.
