According to the brand, it is handmade in Nepal.

What “Last Flight Home” means

Nomad Sari describes a Nepali custom. When someone leaves home to travel or to work abroad, family and friends gather to say goodbye, and before the person sets off a scarf like this is placed around their shoulders as a sign of love and a safe journey. Each scarf in the series carries its own wish. This one, Last Flight Home, is for safe returns and joyful reunions.

A present for someone who lives far away

It is meant for someone who works or studies abroad and is home for a visit, or about to head back. If you see them off at the airport or the station, placing it around their shoulders makes a very personal goodbye. Folded small, it fits in hand luggage. You can also give it on arrival to someone coming home for a visit, to celebrate being together again.

Around the neck or over the shoulders

Wear it loosely knotted around your neck, or as a shawl when a summer evening turns cool. At 170 cm it is long enough to wrap twice around your neck. Leave both ends hanging at the front and the purple and the turquoise halves will both show.

The colours go well with jeans and a dark coat. After washing, comb the fringes through with your fingers so they do not tangle.
