A hooded cotton jacket in size XL, with sage green and cream bands and terracotta stripes. Cut for a 122–130 cm (48–51 in) chest, it has a soft fleece lining, a zip running the full length of the front and two side pockets. It was stitched in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Cream or white shirts and dark jeans go well with the green and terracotta. Wear it zipped when the air is cool, and open on milder days.
A roomy cut for broad shoulders
XL suits someone with broad shoulders or a larger frame. Because the cut is straight and roomy, it stays comfortable over a shirt or thin jumper. This jacket is not made in any size above XL.
With a chest of around 122 cm, L will be a closer fit and XL a looser one. It is worth checking with a tape measure before you decide.
Lotus and compass rose on the chest
A lotus-shaped mandala sits on one side of the chest and a compass rose on the other, each with the brand's NS initials in the middle. In Buddhist tradition the lotus stands for purity, because it rises clean from muddy water. Flowers decorate the sleeves, two conch shells repeat along the hem, and infinity-shaped loops run along the bands.
Ironing and washing
Check the sewn-in care label before washing. Washing by hand in cold water with a mild detergent is the gentlest way. Keep it out of the tumble dryer, as hot air can shrink cotton, and dry it on a line after reshaping it while damp.
When ironing, use a medium setting and iron on the reverse, so the printed side never touches the hot plate.
