The material — granite
Granite is a hardness-stable natural mineral where every piece is unique: the veining, the grey-brownish shade and the fine grain all sit slightly differently. The figure eight is carefully worked into the stone, and the surface is polished — smooth to the touch yet not slippery. The net weight (approx. 550 g) holds the candle steady, and the stone is heat-resistant so melted wax does not damage it.
What you can use it for
The top of the holder has a recess for a standard tea-light (about 38 mm diameter) or a slim-stemmed candle. It finds a good place at the centre of a dining table, on a mantelpiece, or on a small corner shelf. If you combine several SBN numbers (e.g. 4 + 0 + 4 → '40', or 5 + 0 → '50'), you can also assemble years for a birthday or anniversary dinner.
Cleaning
Simply clean with warm water and a soft cloth. Do not use strong, acidic or alkaline cleaning agents (such as acid-based cleaners) on the surface, as they can leave a matt patch over time. If wax remains on it, let it solidify and then carefully scrape it off with a soft card or spatula.
