What does the 20 cm Nirmala bowl offer you?
The 20 cm size is one of the most sought-after choices among singing bowls: a sufficiently full sound, easy-to-handle weight, and a presence that is immediately felt even in a room-sized space. If you have practised with a smaller bowl so far and want to take a step up, or if you are choosing your first bowl and you know you will use it often, this size is a reliable piece for the long run.
Sound and playing experience
The deeper base tone of the 20 cm Nirmala lasts long after a gentle strike and slowly fades. With the circular motion, a continuous, warmly humming sound can be built up that rises in waves. Many people especially like this size because its sound is both soothing and clearly present in the room.
Material, craftsmanship, individuality
The bowl is made of a metal alloy with traditional hand techniques by Himalayan craftsmen. On the surface you can see fine patterns, small marks and colour shades that distinguish each piece. You can also notice the gentle marks of hand-shaping on the inside of the rim – these are not flaws but the signatures of the craft.
Everyday and practical uses
For morning tuning-in, evening quiet time, opening and closing a yoga or meditation session, and keeping the rhythm of a breathing exercise. It also works well to introduce silent moments or family wind-down rituals. If you work from home, a single strike can help reset your attention when you feel scattered.
Cleaning and long lifespan
Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use chemicals or dishwashing liquid. Keep the bowl on a soft cushion and do not leave the wooden striker inside, as it can cause an indentation. Store it in a dry, dust-free place if you do not use it for a longer period. Cared for this way, the bowl will keep its sound and beauty for decades.
