The scent of green tea in incense form
Matcha, the finely ground Japanese green tea, has been the heart of the tea ceremony for centuries. Nippon Kodo's Herb & Earth series pays tribute to this scent: a gently fruity, lively, slightly spicy character, in which you can also discover the steaming, fresh aroma of green tea.
Why is the matcha scent popular with us?
Many choose a cup of matcha for morning attunement instead of coffee. This stick plays a similar role: it does not lull you, but gently refreshes and helps create the small ritual that goes with starting the day.
How does it fit your home?
The living room, the work desk, or the meditation corner are all ideal places. Since the sticks are thin, the dose can be controlled well even in a smaller space: half a stick is already enough scent alongside a morning coffee or tea.
Burn time and correct use
One stick burns down in approximately 20–25 minutes. Place it in a heat-resistant holder, light the tip, then blow out the flame so it continues as an ember. The sticks are shorter than traditional Indian incense, so keep this in mind when selecting a holder.
For whom do we not recommend it?
If you have strong fragrance sensitivity, we recommend shorter use and subsequent ventilation. Consult with family members suffering from asthma or respiratory complaints before using it regularly.
A small note on composition
The characteristic note of matcha is given by fine green accents and a restrained resinous background. The aim of the Japanese masters was that you can experience the mood of the tea ceremony in incense form, not only as a cup of drink.
Storage, shelf life
Store in the original packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight. This way the scent retains its fresh, lively character for months, and every new stick gives the same experience.
