A simple, undecorated pouch of natural cotton canvas, about 12 × 10 cm laid flat, made in India. The canvas is light and fairly thin, and one pouch weighs about 5 g. You get one pouch.
Plain cotton for you to decorate
With no pattern or lettering, it goes with anything. You can add your own touch to the plain cotton: write a name or a date on it with a fabric pen, stamp a pattern on it, or embroider a monogram. A simple pouch then becomes personal wrapping. On a rainy afternoon, decorating the pouches is something to do together with children.
Several pouches that match
Since there is no pattern, the pouches all look the same. For a wedding, a christening or a get-together with friends, you can wrap small thank-you gifts in them, such as a little stone, a pinch of lavender or a sweet, and they look alike on the table. Write a guest's name on each one and they double as place cards.
Lavender for the wardrobe
The thin cotton lets the scent through. Fill it with dried lavender and tuck it among the clothes in your wardrobe, and they will take on a light lavender scent. When the scent fades, replace the filling with fresh lavender. Tradition links lavender with winding down in the evening, which is why many people also keep a lavender pouch by their pillow.
For pebbles and chestnuts
It is handy for stones as well. If you keep several in one box, a pouch for each of the softer pieces protects them from scratches.
It also fits in a coat pocket on an autumn walk. Anything that catches your eye on the way, a smooth pebble, a chestnut or a snail shell, gets home in one piece.
