Banana leaf and raffia — a material worked by hand
Banana leaf fibre, once dried and processed, becomes a tough yet flexible material. From this the body of the lamp shade is woven, reinforced and decorated with black raffia. The result is a perforated shade that allows light to pass through in a dappled, irregular pattern — not homogeneous, not perfect, but alive and organic. The pattern of filtered light cast onto walls, ceilings and surfaces creates a special atmosphere, particularly in evening lighting.

The set of three contains shades of different sizes, which look beautiful together — hung at varying heights they create a striking installation.
