Properties of red clay
Red clay is a natural mineral ingredient that owes its characteristic color to iron oxides. It has been used for centuries for cosmetic purposes, because it cleanses the skin gently, while having an invigorating, circulation-stimulating effect. Tired, pale facial skin feels particularly good with it.
Who we recommend it to
We recommend it for all skin types, but it is particularly gentle for drier, more sensitive skin – gentler compared to other, stronger clays (e.g., green clay). If you have acne-prone, problematic skin, an interesting combination may be alternating with a deep-cleansing green clay.
How to make the mask
Take 1-2 tablespoons of red clay powder in a glass bowl (avoid metal tools), mix in water in small portions until you get a creamy, easily spreadable paste. You can also add a few drops of olive or almond oil to taste, for extra nourishing effect.
Applying the mask
Apply the paste evenly to clean face, avoiding the eye and mouth area. Let it work for 10-15 minutes, meanwhile keep the skin moist with a spray bottle of water – so the mask does not dry out completely. Wash off with lukewarm water, then hydrate with face cream or oil.
Storage and frequency
Store the remaining powder in a well-sealed container, in a dry place – in opened state it preserves its quality for a long time. 1-2 masks per week are enough – too frequent use can dry out the skin.
Customer ritual tips
You can shape the red clay mask as a home mini beauty salon ritual. Our customers dedicate one evening per week to it: warm bath, clay mask, quiet rest. You may notice after a few weeks that the skin gradually becomes more radiant, and pores visibly finer.
