Why two-in-one
Olive oil is conditioning in character because it softens the surface of the hair strands, while laurel oil takes care of deeper cleansing and scalp health. Najel blends the two oils so that a single bottle is enough for your hair wash: a separate conditioner is not required if your strands are not very dry. The bottle has a push-down pump, so it is easy to handle one-handed in the shower.
Who the normal-hair version suits
It is for hair that neither becomes greasy quickly nor sheds with dandruff. On a healthy scalp it works best for average hair if you want a simple, clean alternative to conventional silicone-based shampoos. It is also good for coloured hair, as the colour does not fade as quickly thanks to the sulphate-free base.
Correct dosing and lathering
Wet the hair thoroughly and place roughly a coffee-spoonful into your palm. Massage the lather first at the nape and behind the ears, only then sweep it through the lengths. For long hair you may comfortably increase the dose to one and a half spoons. After two washes the lathering also reaches a comfortable level, so do not worry about the first impression.
What to do if hair feels waxy
Because of the oil base your hair may feel slightly heavier during the first two or three washes, as previous silicone layers wash away. After rinsing, mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar into a litre of lukewarm water and pour it over your hair – this restores the shine and the waxy feel disappears within a few days. The vinegar smell is no longer perceptible after rinsing and drying.
Storage and shelf life
Keep it in a cool, dark place and use it within twelve months of opening for the best quality. Do not rinse the pump cap, as its protective film helps shield the inside of the bottle from bacteria. Unopened it keeps its quality for twenty-four months from production.
