Clear quartz, the rock crystal
Clear quartz, or rock crystal, is the colourless, transparent variety of quartz (SiO2), with a Mohs hardness of about 7. It occurs across the world; clean, well-formed pieces are sought-after collector stones. Known as a master crystal, tradition holds that it strengthens intention and clears a space, and it is often described as an amplifier of other stones.

A soft, barely damp cloth is enough to clean it. It is wise to keep it out of strong, direct sunlight, as clear crystal can focus the light like a lens.
