A mug that turns a cup of tea into a small ritual. The four phases of the moon — new, waxing, full and waning — wrap quietly around the wall, while the stainless steel infuser and matching lid are made for brewing loose-leaf tea slowly and calmly.
About bone china
Bone china is the strongest kind of porcelain there is. Alongside kaolin, feldspar and quartz, at least 35% bone ash is added, which gives it that warm ivory tone and a wall that stays thin yet sturdy. It is fired at a high temperature of around 1250 °C, so the body remains light and softly translucent. The rose gold tone of the design lends a discreet shimmer to the white surface.
The four lunar phases
The moon circles the earth in a cycle of roughly 29 days, and four main stages are usually marked within it. The new moon opens the cycle, when the moon is barely visible; the waxing moon shows a slowly growing lit surface; the full moon is the complete, glowing disc; and the waning moon lets the light gently withdraw. By tradition this cycle stands for change, rhythm and renewal — a gentle companion to a slow cup of tea.
Use and care
The 400 ml capacity is generous enough for a full serving. Loose tea goes into the infuser, the lid keeps the warmth and aroma in while the leaves steep, and the infuser doubles as a small rest afterwards. Hand washing is recommended; it is not suitable for the dishwasher or microwave, so the delicate design and the bone china keep their beauty for a long time.
