Sound and character
Monolini G is the most versatile tuning in the range: crystal clear, neutral, balanced. If you do not want to commit too low or too high in character, this tuning performs reliably in almost any situation. Despite the compact size, the 21 strings give a surprisingly rich and full sound, suitable for vocal circles, sound massage and meditation alike.
How to use
The Travel Set includes the Monolini G monochord, round stand and extension, wide bag, felt and santoori beater, protective mats, tuning key, tuner, spare strings, monochord scarf and a 30-minute online Zoom introduction. With the stand, the instrument is easy to place beside a meditation cushion or chair.
- Position the stand in the centre of the playing space so the instrument is reachable from all sides.
- Start the strings slowly and patiently so the overtones can come through.
- The 30-minute online introduction helps you with the first steps if you have not played a monochord before.
Why this product
If you are a beginning sound worker and cannot decide which tuning to choose, the Monolini G is the easiest starting point to recommend. It is versatile, sits well with other instruments, and the compact size makes it easy to store and transport.
Care tips
- The G tuning fits singing bowls beautifully — try them together.
- In vocal practice, the G fundamental is in a natural middle register for many people.
- Insert the protective mats into the bag before transport.
