Sound and character
F tuning is the second-deepest voice in the Monolini family. It offers a full, vibrating bass whose vibration can be felt in the body, while the overtones rise above it like a soft tapestry. The result is a sound space that gently invites you and the people you play for to let go and turn inward.
How to use
Place the instrument with its outward-curved side against the body or in your lap – the shape rests softly against you. Stroke the strings slowly and rhythmically, letting the overtones and bass weave into one another. It is ideal for personal meditation, sound massage, group sound baths and accompaniment for intuitive singing.

Care tips
- Allow the instrument to acclimatise to room temperature for a few hours before playing
- Pluck the strings gently with the fingertips – avoid scratching
- Tune regularly to keep the overtones clear; you may also tune a semitone higher or lower around the fundamental
- Store in the bag, away from direct sunlight and heaters
- Do not over-tighten the strings: if a string snaps, the loose end can cause injury
- The bag's shoulder strap poses a strangulation hazard: do not let children play with it
