Sound and character
The D-tuned Monolini is the deepest member of the compact monochord family. Its full bass and long sustaining vibration create a body-felt experience, while the 11 overtone strings unfold a delicate, floating drone. Even though the Monolini is the smaller model, the D fundamental still produces a deeply grounding resonance.
How to use
The arched underside of the instrument nestles into the body, so it is easy to play on yourself or on a client – the back, chest, abdomen or feet all work well. Its small size and light weight make it especially suitable for travel, mobile therapy work, group meditations and home practice.
Why this product
If you want to combine the easy handling of the Monolini with the deep vibration of the D tuning in a single instrument, this variant is a perfect choice. Despite its smaller body it speaks with a surprisingly powerful fundamental, making it ideal as an entry-level monochord or as a second, travel-friendly instrument alongside a larger model.
Care tips
- Play with slow, rhythmic strokes across the strings to bring out the characteristic meditative sound.
- It is also worth placing the instrument directly on the client's body so they feel the vibration directly.
- After longer journeys, always re-tune with the included tuner and key.
