Sound and character
Monolini A is an overtone-rich, delicately minor-character compact monochord. If you hold intimate, introspective sessions and look for an instrument that speaks softly yet with rich detail, this tuning is an excellent choice. The A fundamental fits the female voice, the 432 Hz reference and contemplative practices well.
How to use
The Travel Set includes the Monolini A monochord, round stand and extension, wide bag, felt and santoori beater, protective mats, tuning key, tuner, spare strings, monochord scarf and a 30-minute online Zoom introduction. The small size and weight are especially suitable for work at home or in a small studio space.
- Place the stand on a flat surface and check that it does not wobble.
- Start the strings with a slow, swaying thumb stroke.
- The Zoom introduction helps with the first tuning and learning the most common playing patterns.
Why this product
If you are looking for a compact, easy-to-handle yet emotionally deep monochord, the Monolini A Travel Set is a reliable choice. The minor character suits sessions where the client wants to grow quiet or connect with deep feelings.
Care tips
- In one-on-one sessions, the Monolini A adapts gently to the client's breathing — watch the tempo.
- Listen to the overtones first in silence so you recognise which one to build on.
- Never place the bag on a radiator or in direct sunlight.
