Sound and character
The Monolina XL C is the longer and deeper variant of the Monolina family. Its extended body and deeper strings produce an especially full, vibrating bass while preserving the characteristic overtone-rich shimmer of the Monolinas. The combination of 23 C overtone and 5 C bass strings creates a particularly deep, grounding sound that is felt throughout the body.
How to use
The curved underside of the large Monolina rests comfortably against the body, making it suitable for sound massage, body-monochord work and overtone-rich sound baths. As a fifth interval below the Monolina G, the two instruments blend beautifully and bring new weight to playing circles. It also fits perfectly into the C/F-tuned Elemental Soundscapes Terra set and provides a deep foundation for sound therapy work.
Why this product
If you are looking for a deep, grounding frequency but want an instrument more compact than the large octave monochord, the XL C is an ideal choice. It was developed at the request of many customers and fills the lower range below the classic Monolina D. It is a strong asset for group sound work, sound bath facilitators and advanced therapists.
Care tips
- Place the bridges precisely with the template so they do not slip while playing.
- When choosing a stand, note that the XL needs a longer cross-bar on the high stands.
- The two sticks reveal a santoor-like percussive playing style.
- Strings can break if over-tensioned; always tune up gradually.
