Sound and character
The F-tuned Monolina is the second-deepest in the family. Fullness and vibration are still very much present, but the sound is a touch brighter and more floating than the D. The F fundamental balances deep bodily vibration with airy, delicate overtones, making it a universal choice for meditation and sound work alike.
How to use
The arched underside of the instrument rests easily on the body and works equally well for sound massage, group meditation or personal practice. With 5 bridges in the melodic section you can improvise pentatonic melodies, and the two sticks add percussive accents.
Why this product
If the D tuning feels too deep for you, the F is a great alternative: you keep the body-felt vibration while the sound becomes more soothingly balanced. Many practitioners choose this tuning for therapeutic work because it tends to resonate well with almost any client.
Care tips
- Repeated stroking of the overtone strings creates the signature carpet of sound – let the tones layer slowly on top of each other.
- Try the melodic section: place the 5 bridges according to the template and play major or minor pentatonic melodies.
- Placed on a stable surface – ideally a stand – the vibration can develop more freely.
