Sound and character
Monolina F is the second-deepest tuning in the range. Its character is best described by fullness and vibration: it sits slightly above the D, so it is not fully physical, yet still has significant depth and substance. If D feels too deep and G too neutral for you, F almost always lands well — especially in group meditations, where you need a deep, safe foundation and an overtone-rich upper layer at the same time.
How to use
The Travel Set includes everything you need for mobile use of the Monolina F: the instrument, round stand and extension, wide bag, felt and santoori beater, protective mats, tuning key, tuner, spare strings, a monochord scarf and a 30-minute online Zoom introduction. With the stand you can play in a comfortable, back-friendly posture — on a meditation cushion, on a chair or beside a low table.
- Place the instrument on the stand and face the playing side of the strings.
- Start the bass strings with both thumbs in a continuous, even motion.
- The Zoom introduction walks through the first tuning and the most common playing patterns.
Why this product
If you are looking for a medium-depth, full-bodied sound, the F tuning is an ideal choice. The Travel Set offers the best value: all necessary accessories arrive in one package, so you can start with your first client or meditation right away.
Care tips
- Store the instrument in a dry place at moderate temperature; do not place it next to a radiator.
- With regular play, it is worth checking the tuning once a week.
- Listen to F next to the other tunings in the range to feel which one stands closer to you.
