Sound and character
The D-tuned Monolina is the deepest model in the family. Its full bass and powerful vibration create a grounding, body-felt experience. The 24 overtone strings weave a soft, floating drone, while the bass and fifth strings provide a stable, calming foundation. If you are looking for deep abdominal vibration and a settling sound, the D variant is an ideal choice.
How to use
The arched underside of the monochord nestles against the body, so you can play it directly on yourself or on a client – on the back, chest, abdomen or feet. With the 5 bridges placed in the melodic section you can play major or minor pentatonic melodies, and the two sticks let you produce percussive santoor-style effects.

The D tuning offers the deepest, most vibration-rich experience in the Monolina family. We particularly recommend it for sound massage, deep relaxation and bodywork – the long sustaining fundamentals work palpably through the tissue.
Care tips
- Play with soft, repeating motions across the strings using the back of your hand to build the characteristic overtone-rich carpet of sound.
- The fundamental can be retuned a semitone higher or lower if you prefer.
- Always store the bag in a dry place and avoid direct sunlight.
