Sound and character
Monolina C is the highest tuning in the range: overtone-rich, major in character, bright and serene. If you hold opening, brightening, energising sessions, or like to add an uplifting, shimmering colour to a meditation, this tuning is built for you. The overtone series above the C fundamental is immediately recognisable and friendly to many ears, so it works well with children, families and beginning meditators too.
How to use
The Travel Set includes the Monolina C monochord, round stand and extension, wide bag, felt and santoori beater, protective mats, tuning key, tuner, spare strings, monochord scarf and a 30-minute online Zoom introduction. The stand lets you play in a back-friendly posture — on a meditation cushion or chair.
- Place the stand on a flat, stable surface.
- Position the instrument so that both hands can easily reach the strings.
- The opening chord sounds best with a slow, swaying thumb stroke.
