Sound and character
The Monolina monochord in A tuning offers an overtone-rich voice with a clearly minor character. Its 24 overtone strings in a, 5 bass strings in A and 5 fifth strings in e combine into a deep, touching and slightly melancholic atmosphere. Five movable bridges with a template can be placed under the upper strings to add a pentatonic major or minor melody zone above the meditative drone.
How to use
The curved underside of the A-tuned Monolina rests comfortably against the back, chest, belly or feet, making it well suited for use as a body monochord. We recommend it for sound therapy, deep emotional and grief work, or simply for quiet inward turning. The koto-like melody zone allows intuitive improvisation that remains harmonic above the drone.

The A tuning is especially appealing to those drawn to introspection, emotional depth and a touching minor-key sound. Many sound therapists feel that the 432 Hz A is closer to natural tuning, and use it for emotional processing or deep restorative sessions.
Care tips
- Before playing, gently brush across all strings and fine-tune with the included device.
- Place the bridges using the template: the major position gives a brighter sound, the minor position a deeper one.
- Used as a body monochord on the chest or belly, it supports deeper breathing and relaxation.
- Store the instrument in a dry, moderately warm room and avoid sudden climate changes.
