The MEINL Wind Gongs are traditionally handcrafted in China using a special bronze alloy. As each gong is made by hand, it has unique acoustic properties that ensure excellent sound quality and durability. These gongs are also known as Feng or Sun Gongs, and their unique shape sets them apart from other gongs.

MEINL Wind Gongs have an extremely flat shape, which allows the gong’s sound to fully open up. This flat design ensures a wide vibration range and long sustain. The gong’s sound is clear, rich, and powerful, while the resonance lasts for an extended period.
Deep Tones and Sizzling Overtones
One of the key characteristics of MEINL Wind Gongs is their deep tonal base, which dominates with softer strikes. However, with stronger strikes, the gong beautifully opens up and produces wave-like overtones that enrich the sound. The sizzling overtones provide a dynamic acoustic experience, as the gong’s sound continuously changes and expands.
