The lunar node cycle, or the period it takes for the Moon's nodes to complete a rotation along the ecliptic, is approximately 18.6 years. These lunar nodes are points where the Moon's orbit intersects with the ecliptic. When the Moon crosses from south to north over the ecliptic, it passes through the ascending node, also known as the "dragon's head." In contrast, when it crosses from north to south, it moves through the descending node, referred to as the "dragon's tail."
