What this medium cauldron is for
This smaller cast iron cauldron is specifically designed for charcoal incense burning. Three small legs support its stability on the bottom, and a metal handle sits on top with which you can comfortably move it after cooling. Its outside is smooth, in a black finish with no decoration — which gives a clean character to your home.
Size advantages
The 9 × 8 cm size is especially practical if you want to use it in a smaller space: a window sill, shelf, table corner all come into play. The cauldron weighs about 605 grams, so it stands stably without weighing down the surface. For its size, it offers a surprisingly generous capacity for charcoal.
How to set it up for first use
Fill it with a thin layer of sand — we recommend silvery, fine-grained sand, which can be ordered separately in our shop. Place the lit charcoal on top, then sprinkle or drip your chosen incense onto it. The fragrance gradually fills the space.
What to be careful about
Charcoal makes the cauldron very hot. Place it on a heat-resistant coaster, never on textile or wood. Keep it away from small children and pets. Ventilate during and after use. Let it cool completely before putting it back in its place.
Material, origin, care
The cauldron is made of solid cast iron in India, using a hand casting process. Maintenance is minimal: after use let it cool, empty out the ash and sand, wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Store in a cool, dry place. Occasionally apply a thin layer of cooking oil to prevent rust.
