This large red meditation shawl covers your shoulders generously and reaches your knees comfortably, thanks to its 200 by 80 centimetre size. Pink, orange and purple stripes run along the red base, so the piece feels colourful without being loud. The weave is 70 per cent acrylic and 30 per cent cotton, so it lies softly on the skin and breathes.
How you can use it
You will feel its value most when you sit or rest in one place for a long time: reading, meditating, doing breathing practice or simply spending a quiet evening. Wrapped around the shoulders it warms your arms; drawn over the knees it provides gentle insulation; spread on the floor it shields you from cold stone, wood or laminate. The red and warm pastel stripes bring a cheerful, friendly mood to a corner of the room.
Size and weight in practice
The 200 centimetre length wraps a full adult; the 80 centimetre width is enough to come back along both sides of the body. The 297 gram weight is enough to stop the shawl from slipping off your shoulder, while still keeping it light in a bag. Both values refer to one piece.
Cleaning and care
Wash by hand in lukewarm water, or use a gentle machine programme at up to 30 degrees with a mild detergent. We do not recommend a spin cycle. Dry it flat on a towel, so it keeps its shape. Store it folded, away from direct sunlight, so the colours stay vivid.
Origin and arrival
The shawl is woven in Nepal, in local workshops. It arrives at us in a plastic bag, so it reaches the shelf clean and dry. As this is hand-woven, the placement and width of the stripes may vary slightly from piece to piece; this is a quiet sign of craft.
What to consider when ordering
The shawl is intended for indoor or covered outdoor use; it is not water-proof or wind-proof. Watch it around young children, as the long fabric invites play. The red colour may lose a little dye in the first few washes, so we suggest washing the shawl together with similar colours the first time.
