This large orange meditation shawl, 200 by 80 centimetres, wraps your shoulders generously and reaches the knees with ease. Brown, red and beige stripes alternate on the orange base, so the piece is warm, earthy and quietly festive at the same time. The weave is 70 per cent acrylic and 30 per cent cotton.
How it serves at home
You will feel its value most during quiet minutes spent reading, sitting in meditation or simply enjoying a cup of tea in the evening armchair. Draped on the shoulders it warms your arms; drawn across the knees it provides gentle insulation; spread on the floor it offers a pleasant seat on a cool surface. The orange-red tone also makes a fine accent in a study or living room corner.
Size in practice
The 200 centimetre length is enough to wrap around the full shoulder line and back of an adult. The 80 centimetre width provides a comfortable return on both sides. The 297 gram weight refers to one piece, enough to stay in place without overloading your bag.
Cleaning and care
Wash by hand in lukewarm water, or on a gentle machine programme at up to 30 degrees with a mild detergent. Spinning is not recommended. Dry the shawl flat on a towel, so it keeps its shape. Store it folded, away from direct sunlight, so the warm colours stay vivid.
Origin and arrival
The shawl is made in Nepal, woven in local workshops. It arrives at us in a plastic bag, so it reaches the shelf clean and dry. As this is hand-woven, the placement and width of the stripes may vary slightly from piece to piece, which we see as a quiet mark of craft.
What to consider when ordering
The shawl is intended for indoor or covered outdoor use; it is not water-proof or wind-proof. Watch it around young children, as the long fabric invites play. The warm dyes may release a little colour during the first few washes, so we suggest washing it together with similar colours the first time.
