A crescent-shaped meditation cushion with a moon phases pattern – the comfort of the curved form and the soft drawing of the Moon's cycle accompany an evening practice.
The moon phases symbol
The moon phases depict the Moon's repeating cycle, which tradition knows as a symbol of change and renewal. On the crescent cushion the motif and the shape reinforce each other – both echo the Moon's arc.
The crescent shape
The crescent cushion nestles its curved edge under the sit bones and tilts the pelvis forward, while giving steady support to crossed legs. Many find this shape more comfortable for a longer sit.
Cotton cover, buckwheat filling
The outer cover is cotton with a zip; the inner cover closes with a drawstring. The filling is natural buckwheat hulls that mould to the body and give a seat that is firm yet yielding. The height can be adjusted to taste: less filling for a lower seat, more for a higher one.
How to use it
For meditation and longer sits, especially for those who find the curved shape more comfortable. It measures about 33 × 13 cm.
Care
We recommend hand washing the cover in lukewarm water; machine washing at 30 °C is also possible. Because of the natural dyeing the shade may vary slightly from piece to piece, and the natural material makes each one a little unique.
