The crescent-shaped meditation cushion curves softly in front of crossed legs and gently supports the thighs – for many a more comfortable seat than a fully round cushion. The Manipura in tradition
Yoga and tantra recognise seven main chakras, subtle energy centres along the body's midline. The Manipura is, in this tradition, said to belong to the solar plexus, above the diaphragm. It is known as the centre of will, confidence and personal power; tradition links it to resolve and inner fire. All of this belongs to the tradition of the chakra system and offers themes of inward attention for practice.
