Meditation Cushion – 1st Chakra (Muladhara), Embroidered Symbol, red

Red meditation cushion with the embroidered symbol of the 1st chakra (Muladhara), in a cotton cover with a buckwheat hull filling. A stable, raised seat. Size 3

On a red ground, the embroidered symbol of the 1st chakra, the Muladhara, appears – a meaningful yet calm decoration in the meditation corner. The cushion lifts the pelvis so the spine keeps its natural curve, keeping quiet sitting comfortable for longer.

The Muladhara in tradition

The yoga and tantra tradition recognises seven main chakras, subtle energy centres along the line of the spine. The Muladhara is, in this tradition, said to belong to the base of the spine. It is known as the centre of grounding, safety and stability; tradition links it to firm foundations, bodily presence and settling. These ideas belong to the tradition of the chakra system and offer themes for inward attention and meditation.

Material and make

Height adjusts with the amount of filling, so the seat suits your own build.

What it's for

For meditation, breathing practice and quiet sitting. The embroidered symbol turns attention to the themes of the Muladhara, and is a meaningful, respectful decoration for the practice spot.

Care

Hand wash in cold to lukewarm water, or machine wash at 30°C.
