A small Buddha that quietly keeps you company
This tiny brass statuette is just 3 centimetres tall and shows the Buddha seated in meditation, with hands resting in the lap. The little figure fits in your palm, on a small tray, the corner of your desk, or the inner pocket of your bag. It is there when you want it, and never imposes.
What the hand position represents
According to tradition, Buddha Shakyamuni lived around 2500 years ago and passed on the practice of meditation to his students. The hands resting one upon the other in the lap recall this meditation mudra, a symbol of turning inward, of calm, and of attention. A glance at the statue gently reminds you that it is possible to pause for a few minutes.
Where this statue feels at home
Many people place it in their meditation corner, next to a reading lamp, or on top of a chest of drawers. Others carry it when travelling: the small brass figure does not break or scratch easily, so it travels well in a small cloth pouch or soft case.
Material and craftsmanship
The statuette is made of solid brass in an Indian workshop. The surface is lightly polished, and the details – the facial features, the folds, the meditation hand gesture – are refined by hand. Over the years brass naturally develops a patina, which many feel makes the piece even more personal.
Good to know
The statue is delivered in a colourful pouch. The price is per piece, so you can order exactly the amount you need. Brass may darken over time when exposed to moisture; if you want to keep it bright, wipe it occasionally with a dry cloth.
Who will appreciate it
We recommend it to anyone who would like a small object to honour their meditation practice, who is looking for a companion next to their breathing exercises, or who simply wants a quiet, beautiful symbol at home. It makes a perfect gift for both beginners and experienced meditators.
