Mala – Polished rudraksha (variant 2) (108 beads)

Polished rudraksha 108 bead mala prayer necklace, second variant with natural brown tones. A light, pleasantly touched mala for meditation and wear.

A 108 bead mala from natural rudraksha

Rudraksha is one of the longest used mala beads in the Indian tradition, and many seek it for its restrained, warm colour. This version is slightly shinier thanks to a polished surface, yet keeps the characteristic grooved structure of the seed. It offers you a necklace that glides easily in your hand and gives a pleasant, natural feel during hours of wear, as many describe.

Polished, second variant

In this version the rudraksha seeds are gently polished, so the surface shines softly and is easier to clean. The grooves remain, only the upper part is more silky. The marking second variant refers to the supplier internal numbering and is used to distinguish this mala from other versions of the same family.

108 beads, traditional rhythm

The 108 beads of the mala are the traditional number used in many Eastern practices. It is enough if you move from bead to bead between your thumb and middle finger, repeating a mantra or an intention. When you reach the guru bead a round is finished, and if you wish you can turn back there with a deep breath.

How to wear and use it

You may wear the mala hanging long around the neck, wrapped several times around the wrist or resting in a small bowl in a meditation corner. Many put it on in the morning and take it off only in the evening. Rudraksha is light, so it does not weigh on the neck even after a whole day of wear. It also goes well with a simple shirt or a light blouse, as the brown colour is restrained and pleasant.

Care and storage

Rudraksha is a natural seed, so it does not like long water baths. Use a dry or slightly damp soft cloth for cleaning and avoid applying cosmetics and perfume directly on the beads. From time to time you may rub it with a thin layer of clean vegetable oil to keep the surface looked after. Store it in a cool, dry place, and the mala stays your companion for many years.
