Warm, pearly moonstone beads alternate with dark, seasoned rudraksha seeds along this 108-bead mala. It can be worn as a necklace or wrapped several times around the wrist, and arrives in a decorative pouch.

The two materials

Peach moonstone is the pearly, soft peach-toned member of the feldspar family, with its characteristic moonbeam-like glow (adularescence). Tradition knows it as a stone of intuition and feminine energy. Rudraksha are seasoned tree seeds used as sacred prayer beads in the Hindu tradition, with their distinctive grooved surface. These are traditional meanings, not health claims.

What is a mala, and why 108 beads?

A mala is a Hindu and Buddhist tool for prayer and meditation, used to count mantras – by tradition 108 times. The number 108 carries layered symbolic meaning in tradition: it is linked with celestial proportions of the sun and moon, with the energy channels (nadis) of the body, and with the letters of the Sanskrit alphabet. As the mantra is repeated, attention rests on the meaning and vibration of the words while thoughts settle.

Wearing and care

As a natural stone, every bead has its own shade. Keep the mala away from water, perfume and cosmetics, and clean it with a soft cloth; the pouch also helps with storage.
