A lotus-shaped mood light in pearl white, with a gold rim. Once lit, it fills the room with a warm, soft glow. The pearl white gives a clean, delicate glow, while the gold rim catches warm points of light.
About the lotus
The lotus is a symbol of the path from darkness into light, from ignorance into knowledge; tradition also links it to the seven energy centres, the chakras. So the lotus-shaped holder is not only decorative but also a quiet symbol of calm in the room.
Material and finish
Capiz is the translucent outer shell of a marine mollusc, Placuna placenta (the windowpane oyster). It takes its name from the town of Capiz on the Philippine island of Panay. Once cleaned, the shell turns translucent, and when painted it lets light and colour play together. Capiz is a natural material, so small irregularities may appear. The petals are held by a gold frame, and the piece measures about 13.5×5.5 cm.
Light and mood
The petals are made of translucent capiz panes on a fine metal frame. The light of a tealight glows softly through them, casting a warm, atmospheric shimmer. For safety, a LED tealight is recommended. A lovely accent for a meditation corner, evening reading or quietly setting a room's mood.
Good to know
Because capiz is a natural material, each piece is unique and the shade and surface may vary slightly. The delicate shell is best kept clean with a soft, dry cloth.
