A lotus-shaped mood light whose petals are assembled by hand from fine plates of capiz shell, in shades that evoke the seven chakra colours. A tea light's glow filters softly and colourfully through the translucent shell.
The lotus and the chakras
The lotus is the pure flower that rises from the mud above the water; by tradition it stands for transformation from darkness into light, from ignorance into knowledge. Tradition also links the lotus to the seven energy centres imagined in the body, the chakras, each associated with a colour — these seven shades are echoed in the petals. The chakra system belongs to the tradition of wellness and meditation.
About capiz shell
Capiz is the flat, translucent shell of Placuna placenta, the windowpane oyster, named after the province of Capiz in the Philippines. Its thin, luminous plates are shaped into petals by hand. As a natural material, each piece is unique, with small imperfections.
Use and care
The light, around 13.5 × 5.5 cm, is made for tea lights. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Wipe it with a dry cloth and protect it from prolonged damp.
