A silver-rimmed lotus mood light in the blue colour of the fifth chakra, the Vishuddha. The cool silver frame gives the warm shade a moonlit, clean mood.

Meaning of the Vishuddha chakra

Tradition links the lotus to the seven energy centres, the chakras; the flower is an image of rising from murk toward light. In this view the fifth chakra (Vishuddha) relates to the throat and is associated with expression, communication and truth; its colour is blue. The lamp's light evokes that mood.

Material and finish

Capiz is the translucent shell of the windowpane oyster (Placuna placenta), named after the town of Capiz on the Philippine island of Panay. Cleaned, it becomes translucent; painted, it plays gently with the light. A natural material, so small irregularities may appear – part of its handmade charm. The petals are held by a silver frame.

Light and mood

A tealight glows through the capiz petals, creating a soft, warm shimmer. For safety, a LED tealight is recommended. The piece measures about 13.5×5.5 cm. It looks lovely in a yoga space, a meditation corner or beside the bed – alone or as part of the full chakra series.

Good to know

As capiz is a natural material, each piece is unique and the shade may vary slightly. A soft, dry cloth is enough for cleaning.
