A single lotus flower with a soft blend of three colours and a gold rim: the light filtering through the capiz shell brings a warm, orange-toned glow to the room. A clean-lined accent for a shelf, a windowsill or a quiet corner.
The lotus symbol
The lotus is an ancient symbol of transformation, from darkness into light, from ignorance into knowledge. In tradition it also evokes the human being's seven energy centres, the chakras. This three-colour piece captures the calm, unfolding mood of the flower. These are traditional meanings, not facts.
Capiz shell
The lamp is made of capiz shell, the outer shell of a marine mollusc (placuna placenta, better known as the windowpane oyster). Once cleaned it is naturally translucent, and when painted it plays beautifully with light. It measures 13.5 × 5.5 cm.
Good to know
Capiz is a natural material, so small irregularities may appear – and these make it unique. Its soft light suits an evening, restful mood especially well.
