Lollo rossa loose-leaf lettuce is the most decorative lettuce variety of Italian cuisine. Forms a leaf rosette with frilled, yellow-green leaves edged in red at their tips. Can be sown year-round in successive batches, except for the hottest months. Visually striking — looks beautiful in pizza and gourmet salads.
Sowing
Sowing time: March–September every 2–3 weeks for continuous yields. Spacing: 25×20 cm. Sowing depth: 0.5 cm.
Pick leaves from the outside in — the plant continually regrows leaves. Uses: mixed salad bowls (decorative element), gourmet hospitality, garnishing cold platters. The red-yellow leaves transform any salad into a colourful, restaurant-style dish.
