The dish is made of mango wood, 10 cm across and 2.5 cm high. Inside it has a glossy lacquer finish and a dark blue rim with tiny gold dots. In the white centre stands a pair of gold scales, with a flower in each pan. A small hole in the middle of the column holds one incense stick. Around the edge runs a ring of constellations. The grain of the mango wood varies, while the scales are the same on every piece. Made in India; you receive one dish.
The only object in the zodiac
Of the twelve signs, Libra is the only one whose symbol is an object rather than a living figure. At the autumn equinox, when day and night are roughly the same length, the Sun moves into Libra. Librans are born roughly between 23 September and 22 October.
People born under Libra are said to have a strong sense of fairness and a gift for making peace. They love beautiful things and good company, though they can take a long time to make up their mind.
On the bedroom chest of drawers
Keep it on the chest of drawers and your ring and fine chain can go in at night, ready to put on in the morning. Wipe the lacquered inside with a soft dry cloth.
When burning incense, push the stick into the hole, stand the dish on a heat-proof surface and don't leave it unattended. Air the room once it has burnt down. Incense sticks are not included.
For an autumn birthday
A Libra friend or relative celebrating in late September or October will find their own sign on this dish. You can give it together with a box of incense. The dish comes in all twelve signs if you have other birthdays to think of.
