The compostable PLA cup has a 500 ml fill line, holds up to 650 ml when full, has a 95 mm rim diameter, and comes 50 pieces per pack. The cup is made from polylactic acid (PLA) derived from corn, a plant-based material, and is an eco-friendly alternative to conventional plastic cups. A flat lid with a straw hole fits it.
Important: cold drinks only
PLA is a heat-sensitive material, so the cup is for cold drinks only, up to 40 °C. It can deform with heat, so do not store it in the sun, near a heat source or in an overheated space, and do not use it in a conventional or microwave oven.
Marking
The product falls under the single-use plastics (SUP) regulation that took effect on 3 July 2021. The regulation requires mandatory marking on cups made from plant-based polymer as well, which can be found on the base of the cup.
