What does a hydrolate do?
A hydrolate (also called a floral water) is the water-soluble fraction collected during the steam distillation of aromatic plants. It carries the water-soluble compounds of lavender in a lighter, more delicate form than an essential oil. It absorbs quickly, leaves no greasy residue, and helps balance the skin's pH while visibly refining pores. Suitable for sensitive, combination, and normal skin types alike — those with particularly reactive skin may wish to patch-test on a small area before using it as a regular facial toner.
How to use it
Apply after cleansing as a toner, misting lightly over clean skin before your moisturiser. It can also be used as a setting mist after makeup application.
