Lavender & Marjoram Massage and Bath Oil, 300 ml

Massage and bath oil with lavender and marjoram essential oils in grapeseed oil. A soft, herbal scent for an evening bath. 300 ml pump bottle.

Two essential oils, lavender and marjoram, are blended into the grapeseed oil of this massage and bath oil. It comes in a 300 ml amber bottle, 18 cm tall, with a pump on top. Made in England.

Lavender and Spanish marjoram

Lavender gives the blend its floral base. The oil comes from true lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), the narrow-leaved kind many people grow in their gardens. According to the ingredient list, the marjoram oil comes from Spanish marjoram, a close relative of thyme. It grows wild on the dry, stony hillsides of Spain and Portugal and adds a fresh, herbal note next to the lavender. Overall the scent is soft rather than strong.

For an evening bath

Tradition links lavender with winding down in the evening. People used to sew it into small linen bags and tuck them beside the pillow or in the wardrobe. You can use this oil in a bath before bed. Pump a few measures into the filled tub, swirl it in and sit down. Take care as you stand up, because the bottom of the bath will be slippery.

Massage and a patch test

For a massage, one or two measures are enough for the shoulders or the soles of the feet. Warm the oil between your palms and work it in slowly. If you have rubbed it into your feet, put socks on afterwards so you do not slip on the floor. Before the first use, put a little on the inside of your elbow and wait a day; if there is no redness, it is fine to use. Keep the bottle somewhere cool and dark. The ingredient list is on the product page.
