What makes this singing bowl special?
The Lakshmi motif singing bowl is made of metal alloy with precise laser engraving on its surface. The finely drawn figure depicts the goddess Lakshmi, honoured in Indian tradition as the guardian of abundance, beauty and home harmony. The engraving is more than decoration: the surface pattern shapes the richness of the sound and makes each piece unique.
How does it sound and how is it played?
You can play it with the included wooden mallet in two ways. Striking the rim gently with the soft side of the mallet gives a deep, long-lasting base tone. Moving the mallet around the outer rim with steady pressure makes the bowl sing: the sound gradually builds into a vibration that fills the room. As a beginner, practise slowly and patiently to find the rhythm of the piece.
When and for what occasion do we recommend it?
Many use it in the morning to start the day, others in the evening for quiet time, yoga closing or opening meditation. It looks good in a living room, study, quiet room or beside a yoga mat. It is also a favourite gift for anniversaries, birthdays or housewarmings, because its look and sound offer an experience at once.
How should you place it at home?
The bowl sounds best on a flat, level surface, with a soft cushion or felt pad underneath so the vibration unfolds freely. Avoid draughty, cold spots and do not place it directly next to a radiator. In a visible spot the engraved Lakshmi figure also serves as a decorative element on a shelf or side table.
How to care for it long term?
You can wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, as they may fade the engraving. From time to time wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth in lukewarm water and dry it thoroughly. With proper care it will keep its clear tone and striking surface for many years, accompanying you in daily life.
