A larger-than-usual lotus-shaped mood light in warm orange, with a gold rim. The bigger size gives a fuller, more striking glow. The warm orange tone casts a sunny, lively light that the gold rim makes even richer.
About the lotus
The lotus is a symbol of the path from darkness into light, from ignorance into knowledge; tradition also links it to the seven energy centres, the chakras. A lotus-shaped holder is thus a quiet sign of calm and renewal in the room.
Material and finish
Capiz is the translucent outer shell of a marine mollusc, Placuna placenta (the windowpane oyster). It takes its name from the town of Capiz on the Philippine island of Panay. Once cleaned, the shell turns translucent, and when painted it lets light and colour play together. Capiz is a natural material, so small irregularities may appear. Thanks to the larger, roughly 15×10.5 cm size, the light spreads more widely; the petals are held by a gold frame.
Light and mood
The petals are made of translucent capiz panes on a fine metal frame. The light of a tealight glows softly through them, casting a warm, atmospheric shimmer. For safety, a LED tealight is recommended. It can be a lovely centrepiece for a meditation corner, a dining table or a living room.
Good to know
Capiz is a natural material, so each piece is unique and the shade and surface may vary slightly. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.
