This large, 21 × 15 cm Lokta paper journal is hand-made in Nepal from Himalayan Lokta paper. The wildflower border on the cover and the printed word “Inspiration” give it gentle character, while the 45 pages of thick, textured paper inside invite long, slow writing.
About Lokta paper
Lokta is hand-made from the bark of the daphne shrub, which grows in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal. The bark is sustainable to harvest — the plant regrows readily — and the resulting paper has a soft, slightly uneven texture that takes ink beautifully. Each sheet is naturally a little different from the next.
How the journal is built
The cover is firm and decorative, the binding is hand-sewn, and a slim ribbon bookmark is built into the spine so you never lose your page. The 45 pages give space for a few weeks or months of focused writing without the weight of a brick-sized notebook.
What to use it for
Morning pages, travel notes, a sketch diary, recipe ideas, a creative project log or simply a slow gratitude journal at the end of the day. The thicker paper handles fountain pens, fineliners and lighter watercolour washes well; very wet media may bleed through, so test on a back page first.
